Last week children were introduced to colour mixing. They used red, blue and yellow colours to experiment with, to see what secondary colours they could make. Mrs Rushton shows the children how to use this area sensibly and safely.

Children always have an oppurtunity to paint - what they are encourged to paint changes each week to link with the topic being taught in topic lessons or Literacy. The children last week were painting things from the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? We had some fantastic paintings of blue horses, purple cats and yellow ducks taken from the story.

 

Our Funky Fingers area

 

Children have had lots of practice recognisng their name and are starting to order each of the letters correctly. This will help them when writing their names and with recognising phonics phase 2 sounds.

 

Choosing area in Maple Class

We were very excited to show children the new London buildings and accessories. The children loved this area, using the trains on the tracks and talking about the buildings they passed.
